The tiny puppy in my arms was whimpering, its cries weak and desperate. I rushed into the vet’s office, hoping he could ease its pain. But as he examined the pup, his face shifted from concern to shock, his eyes welling with tears. He took a shaky breath, stepping back and whispering, “How is this possible?”
Earlier that day, I had been driving when I spotted the puppy alone by the roadside. It was so small and frightened, I knew I had to stop. Quickly, I checked the puppy for any injuries, hoping it was okay. It seemed to be in pain, and with no owner in sight, the vet's office was the only place I could think to go.
The puppy seemed scared and weak, and I knew it needed help fast. The vet's office wasn't very far, so I hurried over, cradling the pup gently in my arms. When I reached the door, I pushed it open and called for help. The receptionist looked up from her desk, concern crossing her face as she saw the trembling little bundle I was holding.
